The Mission of St Paul

Join us on a journey to the beautiful islands of Malta and Gozo, where the Apostle Saint Paul’s shipwreck in 60 AD marked a transformative moment for Christianity in the Mediterranean. After enduring a perilous journey, Saint Paul arrived in Malta, where he was warmly received by the island’s inhabitants and spent three months preaching the Gospel.

The islands, rich in Christian history, were one of the first places where Saint Paul established a presence, and his influence helped lay the foundation for a strong and enduring Christian community.

In Malta, we will visit the historic Grotto of Saint Paul in Rabat, where tradition holds that the Apostle sought refuge during his time on the island.

We will also travel to the island of Gozo, believed by some to be the site of Saint Paul's shipwreck. Here, in the tranquil surroundings, we reflect on the early Christian community that flourished in this area, with ancient churches and catacombs that testify to the deep faith of the first Christians on the islands.

This pilgrimage offers a profound opportunity to connect with the roots of the Christian faith in Malta and Gozo, reflecting on the courage and mission of Saint Paul, and the remarkable growth of the Christian community he helped nurture in these sacred lands.
